Kendal Wedding Photography
Cwmbran wedding photography in the Lake District!
When Shirley & Phil asked me to photograph their wedding in the Lake District I was delighted! How often is it that a wedding photographer from South Wales is going to get chance to visit the Lakes? I photographed their pre-wedding shoot at Tintern Abbey about 6 weeks before the wedding when they were in the area visiting family, so that worked out nicely.
Helena and I travelled most of the way up to Kendal the night before the wedding. I don’t like to be too far away on the morning of a wedding, mainly as insurance against any unexpected problems. My philosophy being that if you’re not too far away then any logistical hurdles can be overcome. I’ve not had anything happen yet, but you can never be too careful!
We spent about 45 minutes taking some detail shots and bridal preparations at the house. Then it was off to St Mark’s Church in Natland to get a few portraits of Phil before the ceremony. The service was lovely, fortunately I was allowed to take some discrete shots at key moments. I always think it’s such a shame for the couple when there’s a complete ban on photography in the church, it’s them who miss out.
Following the ceremony we headed back to Kendal for the reception at the Castle Green Hotel. A beautiful location for any bride and groom, especially as we were blessed with some nice weather. We had a brilliant day and stayed right through until the first dance. Here are some of my favourite photos from the day.
